Rabac, a Pearl of Kvarner, is the most important tourist center on the east coast of the Istrian peninsula, about 40 kilometers from Pula and only five kilometers from Labin. Leaning on the Kvarner Bay, at the foot of the hills that protect the place and maintain a pleasant Mediterranean climate, Rabac is rightly known as the ‘Pearl from Kvarner’. The beautiful environment, the beautiful pebble beach, the pleasant climate and the view of the Kvarner Bay attracted tourists and travel writers as early as the middle of the 19th century, when Rabac was just a small fishing village.The first Quarnero hotel in Rabac was built in 1889. Despite all its good sides, Rabac could not compete with more advanced tourist centers such as Pula and Poreč in the west or Opatija and Lovran in the east at the beginning of the 20th century. The first larger hotel was opened only in 1925, but today Rabac is a developed tourist center with as many as 15 hotels and apartment complexes and several campsites. The largest tourist companies are Valamar and Maslinica.

You can go hiking on the slopes of Učka, and a little further south, on Skitača, where you can enjoy a beautiful view of Kvarner. In addition to hiking and walking, there is also the possibility of practicing other sports, such as sport climbing, horseback riding, and cycling.
